Hatched Yesterday, she can’t straighten her legs and rest on her hocks. I’ve done physical therapy with her numerous times a day and I now have her in a hammock with her legs hanging down and it seems to help loosen them a little. Should I be treating her for straddle legs too? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

One of my young chicks couldn't walk at all the day after hatching. It's legs stuck straight out in front of it, but it didn't flip over backwards... just scooted along on its butt, feet kicking and wings swimming. The little black and white one.

That day, I put it in a small saki cup for a few minutes at a time ever hour or so, so that it had to tuck its legs under and push up with them to see over the edge. It's a very tiny chick - 13 grams that first day. It's egg was about half the size of the other eggs, and it required assistance to hatch. I gave it water every half hour or so, with a q-tip soaked in water supplemented with vitamins and electrolytes that I touched to the side of the beak so it wicked inside. I used 'AgriLabs Vitamins & Electrolytes "Plus"', which I got from the local feed store, with 'Acidifiers for Livestock and Poultry'. It has the Riboflavin and Vitamin B mentioned above, unlike Sav-A-Chick.

This stuff:

Day 2: Standing, but with very stiff legs. Lots of falling over.

Drinking and eating on its own, so I left it alone to get used to its legs.

Day 3: Legs are perfect, and its getting around wonderfully.

And day 4 (Today):

I can't say if it was the supplement in the water, the saki cup making it stand up, just that the chick needed time, or a combination. All I can say is that something worked, and none of it harmed, so it's worth trying.

This is a quick and easy brace for the legs, it usually takes 24 to 48 hours to help keep the legs together so the chick can stand and strengthen its legs. It is made from a small little girl's soft material hair tie and a 1/2 to !/4 piece of straw. I have 3 sizes because of the size of the baby that needs it. I used the smallest one on my guinea that was born with splayed legs and it was up and running in 24 hours. I hope this helps yours as well along with the supplement. But the quicker you do something upon being born the better the chance of correcting it.
