I put paper towels down because I read they’re good for grip. The incubator didn’t have the best grip, I’m wondering if that was the problem. I read the article about using half a bandaid to rectify the problem, and have done that for now. Praying for the best!!No it does look like splayed leg in the pic. If you suspect splayed leg make sure the chick is walking on a solid service in the brooder. I use pine pellets just for this reason.
Very likely, yes.Chick hatched over night. It can’t get around very well, like it can’t get its legs underneath itself. Is this splay legs?
Might have been, but it can also be caused by too much humidity, nutritional deficiency, or just plain bad luck. I use rubbery, grippy shelf liner in my incubator, over the mesh floor.The incubator didn’t have the best grip, I’m wondering if that was the problem.
