Is this splayed leg?

I was given this Muscovy a few weeks back. He is young, not fully feather but pretty big. He was a runner and very skidish. He seemed to have wide stance but Muscovys do so I was not alarmed. Well, I've noticed that he is having trouble walking now and it gets worse every day. His legs are very far apart. Is it too late to correct this?

Does the duckling get much time floating in water - with supervision to prevent drowning?

There is a kiddie pool in his pen but he is too big to float. I was thinking a trip to the pond is in order but I may never get him back up to the pen. He really is a freak-out duck.

Can you get him into a tub of lukewarm water? Even a very large trug bucket. Treats may help.
