Is this strange??

my hen duck (A Crested) keeps going into our chicken coop she climbs the ladder and once she is in she lays down then will get up walk around in it and lay down again she keeps knocking over our nest box (Milk Crate) is it strange is this a sign she is getting ready to lay an egg???

She could be getting ready to lay. My ducks usually make a few different nests ( if there is room ) and then pick their favorite.

I remeber how excited I was when i found my first egg out in the yard, and then discovered her hidden nest in one of the dog igloos . Keep us updated!!

That's so cool! I can't imagine my muscovies climbing the ladder to get into the chicken coops. They are probably more agile than I give them credit for, though.

It does seem likely that she is looking for a place to lay her first egg.
