Araucana have pea combs, but I doubt he had those as crosses. Aracuana are very expensive to get your hands on (I paid $35 for a cockerel and $40 for my pullets). More likely he had ameraucana, which are slightly more common and slightly cheaper. That said, I think this may be an easter egger. A cross with an ameraucana parent would be very likely to have muffs and a beard, which this bird doesn't have.
