Here's a pic of the old neglected hen house.. I think it can be salvaged. I don't know what the wooden frame infront of the hen house was suppose to be... but I'm gonna tear it down and reuse the boards on the hen house.

I think that you can salvage that house, i prefer old ones anyway they have much ore character, why go and spend money when you already have a weathered little place for them.
If you just need a door, just get a shark mesh security door from a second hand place.
You can board up any gaps too with hammer and nails.
Wow I wish I had a project like that to work with, I love restoring old sheds.
Please let us know if you need any help with internal stuff.
You are so very lucky to have found a chicken like this.
It must be meant to be.

Let them eat the spiders as you move the wood around!!
Also, a wildlife ranger told me that Melbourne city has a huge fox problem, can they be near you too?
May need to make this house nice and strong to protect them.
