is this too high for them?

These are my new buff orpingtons, they are 12 days old. I just added this second level to their brooder. Do you think its too high? they dont seem to have a hard time getting up there, and they just jump/flutter down. Think its OK for them to be this high? They were already jumping up on the food and water jars, or my arm when it was in there.

I see nothing wrong with it! Chicks will often surprise you by doing things and getting places you thought they couldn't!

That looks fine for me too. I have two roosts in my brooder, one is 6 inches high and the other is 12 inches. Even my little ones would get onto the taller roost and I never had any problems with them. They just kind of flutter down.

They are soo cute. It will give them something to do. Mine were so happy to get their roosts this week. Have fun!

That's a fine height, not too high or too short. One of my chicks fell from a chair today, and she was fine.
