My coop is 5 by 6 and we have 5 in it. I do wish I had made it bigger, winters are long and hard here, but we do have floor space clear so they are happy, no runs, just free roaming. We do have a run attached but they are let loose early into the yard and free range until night fall. We started with six but one was a rooster that we gave away. Any more chickens and we will be building a new coop!
