So me and my dad were in TSC today. He was looking at a nest box. I was like the quail lay in that little box i have in there for them. And idk how but we got to talking about how big their brains were. He said they were the size of a pea. I said NO NO NO NO NO, they are smaller than that

hahaha

Dunno I take off the whole head when processing, don't fiddle with brains much.

I would imagine they are bigger than a pea, not a whole lot though.

Quail aren't the best decision makers in the world, but this silkie seems to be pretty good for a chicken...

If you are talking about shear brain power, then their brain could be considered pea size. I have never preformed a necropsy on the skull of a coturnix, however: just judging by the mass of the head....I'm thinking the brain in there is a bit larger than a pea. Could be a science project for someone willing to do the research.

HOW CAN THEIR BRAIN BE BIGGER THAN A QUARTER WHEN THEIR HEAD IS NOT? I MEAN THATS LIKE A SQUARE PEG IN A ROUND HOLE...

when I was younger and turkey hunting, I dissected a turkey head/skull, was suprised to find that its eyes were bigger than the brain.
