Is this true?

I concur with all the above answers. BTW my EE is 30 wks old and no eggs from her, while her coop mates, same age, started two months ago ( Blk Australorp, wyndottes.)

I have 3 EE, who are 24 weeks, last week our roo Owl did the deed with Sweetpea, who's comb is the reddest of the 3 girls, today we got our first green egg. I have noticed a decrees in eggs, but because mine are under a year, I am letting nature takes it's course.

Thanks everyone! That makes me feel a lot better knowing that I haven't done anything bad to my chickens.

Yes you know more than ths lady....i would said if you was only feeding scratch, they would make them lay late , but the way your are feeding them is find. You are correct on the shorter daylight affects eggs laying .

Awww, don't be too hard on this lady

. I'm sure she answered your mom's question the best she could. I wouldn't write her off just because of this, she could turn out to be a good "chicken friend". I do an awful lot of research and have learned that you can find a lot of misinformation everywhere, you just have to sort through it until you find what fits your situation and what works for you in your situation.

I know what you're going through, my brown leghorns (supposed to be early layers, right?) have been stringing me along! I read on here that some got eggs from BLs at SIXTEEN weeks!! Haha, of course I started looking for eggs at that point

. I just got my first egg from one of them yesterday. They are 22 weeks today. Just goes to show ya, these chickens can't read the research!!! Good luck with it and I hope you have great colored eggs soon
