Is this weird?

My RIR, Olive laid her first egg last Thursday. It was soft shelled so we got rid of it. We change their food to layer feed and gave them some oyster shells in another dish to eat as they please. We were very excited to find another egg Sunday- a real egg!! It was small, but indeed a real nice light brown egg. Since then we have not found anymore eggs. Is this weird, because its been 4 days?

It's completely normal. It can take several weeks for all the parts of the egg production system to start working together consistently and regularly.

My cHickens are sitting in the nesting boxes. Does that mean that they are going to lay soon?

Yes, they will be laying soon. But soon could mean the next day, or next week.

Only one of my chickens is laying but they are all the same age. Why aren't more laying?

Chickens are like people. They won't all hit puberty at the exact same time. Each one matures at it's own rate.

My chickens combs were bright red yesterday and today a few chickens had sort of faded combs. Is that normal?

I was going to ask a similar question, I have a three-year-old sex link who's comb is red and floppy always, but it's starting to turn at the edges a dark red. Is That a problem? Also she is starting to pull the breast feathers out of my barred rock who is also three years old. She just stands up close to her and let's her do it?
