Is this weird?

My chickens have an entire yard to roam around in, but day after day they choose to spend most of their time piled up in this corner on our little concrete deck next to the lawn mower. Is this normal?

The yard is lush, green and mostly shaded…their coop is at the top of the yard about 25 yards away from where they’re huddled up.

How long have they been in the coop?
They’re about 13 weeks and have been in the coop since week 6-7ish. They put themselves up in the coop to bed every night before dark, and seem to like it up there. They will go back to the coop mid-day for feed and water. Sometimes they will venture to forage. But 60% of the day they seem to just hang here.

Mine took over three months to venture farther out from their coop. They should be venturing further in a month or so.
Sorry, they’re not hanging in/around their coop. They’re hanging in that random corner of the yard that has a concrete slab. Could be completely fine….Just making sure I’m not doing something wrong!
