Is wheat germ good for chickens?

I bought a bag of wheat germ from sprouts because it was on sale. Can I feed this to my two hens and if so how should I feed it to them? Do I cook it or feed it straight up. I intend to feed it to them as a snack/ treat which means not as their main source of nutrients.

I mix their feed with water to a mash then you could add it in that. They will love it, and that way there still eating food thinking it's a treat. Also if ever a broken egg I just mix it in with too.
