Winston is now 3 weeks and from the day we got him/her at 1 week, I thought rooster because of the comb. Bantam Cochin Frizzle.

Thoughts?

I'm a first-timer with my urban chickens.

Hi there,

and welcome to BYC!

I am not that good on ID ing Cochins, so maybe someone else will be able to help you more. But generally with roo's, they feather in later than the females. So if you have others to compare this one with, I would say that the lack of feathering and still lots of fuzz, he could be a roo. However, many breed roo's start to get red combs at this age, or at least big combs. So he could be a she. So I guess I am not that much help to you!!

You might want to post his pic in the What Breed section here on BYC for a possible ID of this cute baby....

Good luck with your new babies and enjoy BYC!

Hello :frow and welcome To BYC! X2 on the What Breed Or Gender Is This forum, that is a pretty hefty chick and awful lot of comb for a three week old, would guess Winston might wind up keeping his name.
