Is zuccini safe for chickens to eat?

sure, i feed mine all kinds of left overs and veggies. they'd love it i'm sure

According to my brother-in-law Zuccini isn't safe for anyone to eat but it's not the only thing he's wrong about.
It's easy to decide what's ok to feed chickens-if you can eat it they can eat it.

With the exception of avocados and a few other things...

Flockoffour,

I wouldn't mind buying some zucchini offn you if you have extra.
I'm in NW Pa. if you're not too far away. This is for makin bread, not for the chicks.

Last year I make Zucchini PICKLES. Used a simple sweet pickle recipe and use zucchini in the place of cucumbers. Very good. I have also use yellow summer squash in a the same pickle recipe.

Our chickens love zukes. They produce like crazy and the birds love 'em. Just split them in half and lay 'em so the inside of the zukes are facing upward. We don't eat zukes once they get big but the chickens love them.... We also grow golden ones that taste like summer crookneck squash and they love those also.
