We have a sweet little Isa Brown, Tweety, and today she doesn't seem herself. She's extra fluffed, her crop is swollen to the size of a baseball, very thirsty, a bit delirious/sleepy. I find her in the yard standing, scrunched up, falling asleep. Her head starts to shake and she wakes up. She's a tad over a year old. Also, she won't let us touch or hold her like she usually does. All of our hens "lust" for us when we get home from work, but today, she's just not feeling it. Any advice or anyone know what may be her issue. I know it's only been a day, but she looks so miserable. The water tank was empty when we got home from work, so we put out fresh water and she has been chugging it more than the others. Is it too soon to massage her crop or be concerned?
