She is almost 2 years old is there anything i can give her to help her with her colorHow old is she? Maybe her "paint" is running low.
Probably not. If she were to molt and take a descent break from egg laying the color may come back to a certain extent. @aart What do you think? She is almost 2 years old is there anything i can give her to help her with her color
The darker part of the egg is probably porous and may have absorbed more of the brown coating. Its like if the egg color stayed at the bottom of the egg and didn't expand
So she'll be 24 months old this spring? She is almost 2 years old is there anything i can give her to help her with her color
Yes, she molted last year in SeptemberThe darker part of the egg is probably porous and may have absorbed more of the brown coating.
So she'll be 24 months old this spring?
Did she molt last fall/winter?
If she didn't get that molt and break over winter, her shell and coating quality is bound to degrade. Not too unusual for a high production breed.
So how long since she came back into lay?Yes, she molted last year in September
Yes all of them and today she layed an almost white eggSo how long since she came back into lay?
Are all her eggs light colored with that funky end?

ThankyouNo I think it is just the vagaries of a hybrid layer.
As long as she is eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK, I'd not worry about it.
Oh, and eating only a good chicken ration, fresh plain water, some OS, and nothing else.
