Well I wanted to post some pictures of my 3 ISA Brown girls with a little commentary of what I did each week. Maybe it will help someone as I got some good information from the forums.

Week 1 - I picked up my girls from TSC as day old chicks. My guess was they were 3 days old since they were delivered on Friday and I got them on Monday. I used a large cardboard box with heat lamp. I am in Louisiana so they were able to stay on the porch due to hot summer nights.

Week 2 - a little more than 2 weeks I decided to move the girls to the coop since they were flying all over the box. They were getting very curious and every time I removed the wire from the top of the box they tried to fly out. They adjusted very quickly to the coop and I would let them stay in the run with the door to the coop open. Same day as move they figured out how to move from coop to run and even fly to roost in the run. I put the heat lamp in the coop since the nights are getting into the high 50's.

Week 3 - Two of the 3 girls are almost all feathered out. One of them must have been a runt because she is about 1 to 1 and 1/2 weeks behind in her development. She runs around trying to prove she is tougher than the 2 bigger girls. At this point, I decided to move the feeder into the run since they keep scratching the feed onto the floor of the coop.

They sure change quickly, don't they? Fun to see their progression, good job of documenting with photos!

We are at week 4 now and the girls have just about feathered out. Miss Prissy the darkest one and the runt is getting there but she is still a week or so behind the other two. I got a hanging 10lb feeder that is working great. It had an opening in the top to pour feed in and I covered it with a plastic lid. They run out of coop now in the mornings to get to feeder. I am still leaving red light on at night because they freak out in the dark.

I am new to chicks, but from what I have seen so far with my ISA Browns is at 2 weeks they started turning brown and as their feathers began to come in they got darker. The roo's are mostly white. From your pic, I would say they are hens except for the one in the middle which is mostly white and yellow ( probably still too early to tell for that one as well).

well I sure do hope so bc I really didn't want any roosters

Week 5 and the girls are getting bigger every day. The small dark one (Missy Prissy) is feathering out now and the other two are starting to get their waddle. Not much changing with their behavior, but they are going into the coop at dark. I have a timer set for around dusk and they go in by themselves now. I am almost thinking the dark one might not be an ISA Brown.

I got 3 "Isa Brown" pullets from TSC and found out here that I actually have 1 Isa, 1 Leghorn, and 1 Cornish X! I don't want roosters either and am too worried to verify gender yet!

Week 6 - Girls are not changing much at this point except they are getting bigger each day. Probably last post for a while unless something drastic changes I am not expecting.
