I want to end up with lavender Olive eggers. (Just a project I want to do since I have the birds here, why not!)

If I breed my Isabel (lavender wheaten) Ameraucana with my black copper Marans hens, will that give me black birds split to lavender?

Or does the wheaten genes make things more complicated?

My understanding is Isabel's have two copies of the lavender gene so it should work as I'm expecting, with black chicks that are split to lavender. I will then breed them back to their father for 50% chance at lavender Olive Egger chicks. I assume there will be some leakage because of the wheaten genes.

All chicks will be spit lavender and wheaten, the black copper Marans will also bring in leakage. Bred back to the father you will get more splits, lavender and wheaten lavender (isabel) offspring
