My babies are getting so big! They reached that not so cute stage. I have one that looks similar to a barred rock! Here's a pic.

That is not an Isbar...is it supposed to be? Cute cockeral though...

I really think it is. I got it with my 12 other isbar babies and he looks just like the rest excepted for the barred look to his feathers. He has the same head, body shape, etc. We thought he would be blue to begin with but he's slowly turned more barred-looking.

Where did you get him? They only come in black, blue, and splash...maybe a mix?

Eta- my cream legbar would find a way into my Breda pen, I hatched quite a few barred Breda looking birds. :/

Mystery solved! He's a bantam Cuckoo Orpington! He slipped into the Isbar chicks. What a nice surprise! I'm told we can breed him with our Chocolate Orpingtons and get Chocolate Cuckoos.

Happy day here in VA! All 3 of my Isbar eggs hatched yesterday

! I got 2 Blues and a Splash! I still need a couple of Black Isbars to make my little flock complete. My two 8 week old chicks are growing up beautifully! The Blue is a roo and the Splash is pretty little pullet

Kimmi I thought Isbars were not true autosexing? How are you telling the sex? I'd love to take a quick look at mine that hatched last Monday and tell which genders I have!
