Isbar thread

Pics
I had mailed some eggs to a friend in FL, I live in WA. I paid for snail mail but she got eggs in 2 days. all intact. Hatching them out is a diff story but we are hopeful.

the greens were Isbar.

I have heard back from Jenny at Greenfire Farms about these three - they are not Isbars...

That was not the same impression she gave me six weeks ago when I asked about the "different" down color on the chicks I received...

What are they then? I have one female that looks like this.

Quote: You know what is REALLY sad? They could have made this an extremely positive experience simply by marking the chicks that were extras. They didn't even need to tell me what they were (that would have been fun - watching them grow and figuring it out!), only make it clear which were not Isbars. For want of a simple toe punch...

What are they? I have some Orust from Greenfire and they look like them only with the black, not blue. They take a little while to get the speckles on the feet. Also one of mine has solid yellow feet.
Quote: Jenny said that the first and third are Orust and the middle one is Swedish Flower Hen. Everything I have found says the Orust are ONLY black and white and third one is definitely blue and white, so time will tell. The third could be a SFH, too, I suppose. I would have been so psyched to get a SFH cockerel as an extra if it hadn't caused so much grief to me already.

I sure hope you get your order straightened around soon.

Your blue Bresse should be much larger than the Isbars, although the new line Isbars might be bigger than the original from what I have read. That would be a shame as the small size is one of the great attributes of the Isbar. Did you make a report to RBA about the situation?

If the black and white one does turn out to be Orust, he is going to need a lady. Let me know if you have an extra.

Could be Orust, could be Swedish Flower Hen. Maybe we'll have to get my cockerel together with your pullet!

KYTinpusher out of the 5 Orust I got 4 were boys. I do have a pullet but I'm going to keep her and a boy. I will be breeding them and send you some eggs or chicks if you like.

Feeling frustrated. Has anyone else gotten pea-combed Isbars from the latest GFF import?
I am assuming that's what these guys are. I was debating about keeping them for a more winter hardy green egg layer, but I don't have the space for too many projects.

Also WTH is this guy?

Chambe94, I can appreciate your frustration and I'm sorry you are having to deal with this. Personally, I think the small, cold-weather combs are sort of neat, but I also understand that isn't the combs Isbars are supposed to have and you paid good money for them. I hope you can find room for them as a project. If not, that you find a buyer that would love to. Keep us posted on them.

I have one in my order of new line Isbars from GFF that has a small comb. It doesn't look like the pea comb on my Ameraucanas, but more like a tiny single comb. There are distinct points on her comb, but tiny. I will try to get a better picture later today, but this is her a couple of weeks ago at about 5 weeks old. As for your splash boy, I have no idea what he is. Body type is all wrong for an Isbar. Perhaps one of their infamous unidentifiable extras.

You could email GFF that picture and ask them what he is.
