Isbar thread

This little "panda" totally makes me smile. (I broke down and got a shipment from GFF. He/she makes it totally worth it.) View attachment 1032967 View attachment 1032969

Precious! Mine are GFF line as well...they are exquisite birds and such wonderful temperament. I wish I still had the video of my friend's daughter hugging her splash roo and feeding him grapes. Love these birds.

How soon can I tell if my blue Isbar is a cockerel? Someone once said they could tell at 4-5 weeks. He/she is now 4 weeks old (I know it is early)! I see white feathers coming in on the top of the shoulder and along the back.

Post photos. Everyone here is so good at guessing. They got mine just right by looking at their stances & features. Amazing group!

Pretty baby!! I'm not sure. I'm so interested, but not good at this! @cree57i was 100% accurate with mine a few pages back in posts with my 2 week olds.
Great pics!! I think pullet since the boys seem to be fairly early developers in this breed, but I did have one late bloomer this year - I was sure "he" was a "she" for almost 2 months, and then all of a sudden - almost overnight - he went through puberty and whalah!

I was leaning toward pullet as well. My splash, Olaf, carried himself taller & was quite assertive from a very young age---that's really my only frame of reference.

Yeah - There's always the general rule - and the feisty little rule breaker! I had an Austrolorpe pullet with a gigantic comb and everyone swore I had a roo... well, she's out back brooding on some eggs right now! So, name her something girly and hope for the best!
