Isnt 'Splash' just blue and white?.....

Quote:
Actually Silkies are the only ones in which splash is recognized.

ETA: Sonoran and I were posting at the same time

well that's nice to know I must have been looking in the wrong spot or just passed it somehow, thank you

If your APA standard is the one printed in 2002, splash is listed at the back--recognised too late to make it in the regular section for silkies is my undersstanding--at least better than self-blue which was recognised after the newest standard was already at the printers

Ok, Splash silkies aside, I want to thank every one for clearing the air, I was pretty sure that splash was only possible as part of the blue genetics equation! (I have learned thru life however to be cautious of things I am certain of tho!)

I did not believe the birds in the photos were splash, or show quality for that matter. I had never seen cochins in those colors, not unappealling, just unusual to my eyes.

So, Thanks again for the clarification of the term 'Splash"!
