Isn't this illegal?

I highly doubt it. It is hard to figure out how to leave off the shipping amount without just having it say "free" under shipping cost. He probably couldn't figure out how. He states he will calculate shipping at end of auction.

Oh, and being against eBay policy doesn't make something "illegal". Chicks are sold and shipped through the mail every day.

This may be a really stupid question but I thought that chicks and duckling are shipped day old because they still have the yolk to absorb and feed off. If the chicks are 4 days old wouldn't they need a source of food and water?

i dont think its about complaining about everything...

E-bay has the no animal policy to help protect the animals from harsh breeding conditions and from the stress of the shipping.

I think they want to keep the name as clean as they can by not being an enabler for animal abusers to make a profit

disclaimer:
this is just IMHO, I dont want to start a whole debate about breeding conditions ect.

I always use Express mail when shipping chicks, so shipping is always arounrd $35.00, as I do it. Most Hatcheries though, ship Priority Mail, and the rates for the small box (25 chick size) is around $10.00. There are probably several reasons which make some kind of sense that Ebay does not allow chicks on the site. Has anyone tried around selling birds on kijiji?

Ummmmm....alright, this HAS to be good. I just gotta hear how THAT is being hypocritical????? Guns are a potentially dangerous, lethal, weapon (gotta add tha I am in no way anti-gun, have some of my own, just don't think they should be sold via mail). Live animals can suffer in shipping and as someone else stated, be from horrible living/breeding conditions. Porn items, satanical items (shouldn't we add bibles here too if we are going to slam religious preference), etc. are for that person's PERSONAL use and do not affect anyone else. HOW can these be compared?
