I live in New York, so cold hardy is almost a must for our flock. I joined BYC specifically in hopes that one of the many wonderful keepers here might be working on just the breed/mix I'm looking for! I'm looking for hatching eggs that are cold hardy and also colorful (blue, green, pink/cream, chocolate, or white, as all our current lays only lay brown!)

I don't mind mixes - we love mixes! However, I did have some breeds in mind that I've heard are cold hardy. Some of them are rarer and some of them I know are incredible longshots, but hey, you never know, right?
  • Brahmas
  • Faverolles
  • Easter Eggers
  • Chanteclers
  • Wyandottes (I am especially interested in Partridge, Penciled, and Buff/Blue Laced!)
  • Icelandics
  • Buckeyes
  • Dominique
My favorite colors are partridge, penciled, silver laced, barred, mille fleur and porcelain.

A good chicken is a good chicken, though! If you've got a flock of even just plan ol buff or black chickens that lay colorful eggs from a few generations of breeding, that's fine by me!

If you think you might have some hatching eggs that match any of that, I'd be super interested to chat with you about buying some to ship! This will be my first time incubating eggs, so full disclosure I'll likely have lots of questions for you!

Thanks for your time!

Oh, that sounds absolutely wonderful! I'd love to take you up on that offer - maybe I could see some pictures of your hens? If you shoot me a message we can work out payment!

My hens are beardless sort of crossed with amazing production but sinc we live wher temps reach 120 degrees and no colder than 30 I do not have very Cold hardy birds.

Ah, well unfortunately that won't work for us, then. I do appreciate your reply! I'm sorry that they won't work for us.
