Our peahen was just recently killed and now the male has taken off to look for her. With much searching, we are having a terrible time finding a peahen for sale. I prefer the IB pied, but am willing to look at any others. I am hoping our peacock will come back with the enticement of a new peahen.

You say your male has taken off and you are hoping to entice hem back home again, just curious are you sure he is still in the area? My hens are really not vocal at all, my males are calling all the time, but the girls are pretty quiet unless alarmed. If your boy is still around and you see or hear him now and then he may come back, but if he is just up and gone, I don't know that a hen will be enough.

I am not sure if he is in the area still or not. Our female was pretty vocal at times. I had a friend who's peacock took off for about 3 weeks looking for his peahen then came home. I don't want to buy another male quite yet in the chance that ours may come back. May be wishful thinking.

I am probably not that far away from you and I wish I could help, but I have almost twice as many males as I do hens. If he doesn't return I could probably sell you a pair, but I just can't sell hen's by themselves at this point. Sorry, good luck in your search.
