Please help support my addiction lol!! Looking for Apenzeller Spitzhauben eggs or chicks. Located in northern VA, but will pay shipping.

Not sure if you ever found any Spitzs. I have some amazing ones from Cackle Hatchery. I picked them up, but I know they ship nationwide.
They have silver and gold, and only sell straight run. I got really lucky. I had ordered 6 Silver Spangled Hamburgs, but they only had 4 available at the time they were preparing my order. They apologized and asked if there was a different breed I would want as a substitute. I mentioned the Spitzhauben, thinking about the Silver Spangled (wasn't familiar with golden), but told them I was a little concerned about too much white because of aerial predators and asked if they were able to tell by the chick down which would have more black on them. Well, when I arrived to pick up my order they had added 3 Golden Spangled Spitzhaubens, to the 4 Silver Hamburgs (one was a free bonus). They didn't charge me any extra, even though the Gold Spitz chicks should have been much more expensive. I ended up with 4 Hamburg pullets, 1 Spitz pullet and 2 Spitz cockerels. The roosters have been amazing. Beautiful, protective, and have produced gorgeous sex-linked offspring.

The female is flighty, mean to other hens, and a bit dramatic whenever I need to handle her. But she's gorgeous. I think she looks like a princess with pearl earrings. I haven't decided whether to hatch any of her eggs in the spring, or just producing more black & brown sex links.

There is a lady in Hillsborough, near Raleigh, that has silver spangled Appenzellers, She is under Dragonfly farms(on the web) and I bought some blue laced wyandottes from here. She has a good program there. I think she also ships, VA is not that far from her...
