ISO Ventilation advice: Small coop & small flock in windy MA

Right. I feared that may be the best option to start. I can’t remove the tall wall since it already has shown signs of a leak.
I will remove the lower walls insulation.
I understand, I believe part of the reason you have water coming in is because your roof panels favor the lower side to much.
If you open the short wall up and do the triangles on each side you will be in good shape.

Your coop looks like my little integration coop, only a little bigger - I left the triangles open & it works well. I live in CT so it gets cold in the winter. They get no breeze on the roost but it's good ventilation. The front window also has hardware cloth & the big door has a HC screen for the summer.

As suggested I'd at least save the cutouts in case of a blizzard or something. I haven't needed to put anything there, the overhang is bigger than it looks & it's never had any weather inside from the triangles.
Hello fellow CT’er . Um next time try not driving on the wall:lau

@mapurcel, We are neighbors. Just a few miles south of you. You have gotten some great advice. A little more ventilation and keep them dry. I love the triangle hinge idea. Our windows are under an overhang, so they are always open. Even on our few nights below 0F.

Your chicks, you and all of us will do well this winter. Except the Pats.

Hi neighbor! :highfive:

I know I fell into the temptation of sealing gaps because I was too afraid my girls wouldn't acclimate to the cold and I should not have! (bad move for chicken mama) Now I have to go and tackle the wood bonding sealant I used on the boarded up sections and try again. :barnie

Oh, as to the tarp over the run... I would worry a bit about a heavy snow making it all collapse....

Watch it super closely.
It's like you knew! We actually had a bit of a storm come and almost do that exact thing. Out there with a shovel like it was our business. If it happens again we'll have to figure something out. I don't own the property I am building on so I'm trying not to go ALL out but if the chickens need a roof for their run....

Or make a steep roof top that will shed.
