Isolation of New Birds

I am sure many of you isolate any new adult peas from your other birds for safety reasons, I do. My question is do you think that being separated in a pen/run that is side by side is too close? The building is separated by tin, but the run area would share one side with just chicken wire fence between.
 
Hmm, I think it might be to close because the poop might get kicked into the next pen but I'm not sure.
 
If the bird has any respiratory issues and they sneeze... the virus is like an aerosol and will infect any birds close enough to breath it in. With respiratory issues, they can be contagious before they show symptoms. I would keep them as far away as possible.
