I’m sitting at my desk, catching up on forum threads and generally wasting time, when I look out my window. There, in front of the coop door, is a suspicious reddish mound lying on the ground.
Holy crap (slightly modified to maintain family-friendliness)!! What happened to my chickens. What snuck into my yard without me noticing and what did it do to my birds!!?
Of course, as soon as I step into the yard, everyone comes pouring out of the coop. Except for the two lying in the dirt.
I walk over to the door, wondering if it was a hawk. Or an eagle. Or a cat. Those two fakers fluff their feathers and look up at me as of to say, “ This dirt patch really isn’t big enough for two and everybody keeps stepping on us to get in the door. Could you maybe enlarge the dirt spot and slide the house over a few feet?”
I hate ‘em, I tell ya’. Just wanna’ pinch their feathery little heads off. Gonna’ go lay down now, until my heart slows down to normal.
