It finally happened… I stable gunned myself😑

Hello everyone! So today I was working on my duck run. I was adding netting so I was using a staple gun. The beams I was adding the netting to are taller than me so when I put the staple gun up there I couldn’t see it. Everything was going fine until I went to put up some more netting and I put the gun was upside down… So I was pushing on the “top” then I heard the ting noise it makes ‘that was a weird feeling’ and then I looked at my hand and there’s a staple in it. Now my finger kind of makes a weird noise when I move it. I’m not sure if it always did that and I’m just noticing it now because I’m concerned or the staple did something to the bone in my hand. Does anybody know a staple gun break pieces of bone?

Any help would be very appreciated! Thank you!

What type of staple gun was it? How long were the staples? You are probably going to be perfectly fine but if you are worried a doctor may not not be a bad idea

I'd go to urgent care, especially since there's a possibility you injured a bone

I’ll try and get a picture later. It doesn’t hurt much and there isn’t any swelling so hopefully I didn’t break anything. If it doesn’t get much better, by tomorrow, I may see a doctor. I’m starting to doubt that it did anything to my bone because I’m not hearing the weird sound anymore. So I guess that’s good.

It’s not making the weird sound anymore or swelling but if it doesn’t get much better by tomorrow, I may see a doctor.

I second the Urgent Care suggestion, you also need to get a tetanus shot unless you’ve had one within the last 10 years.

the thought always terrified me hearing all the stories of people getting staples in their hands but it was so fast it didn’t actually hurt it just felt weird. It hurt when I took it out though. also I forgot to mention this happened around two hours ago. If it was still hurting badly, I probably would’ve gone to the dock but right now it doesn’t so hopefully everything‘s OK.
