I know it isn't day 21 yet but i cant help wondering if they will ever hatch. These are not my first lot of chicks so i do have a fair bit of experience however at this stage they should be showing signs of life. On the other hand i have been checking their development by candling the eggs and they seem to be doing fine, but i still feel as if something is wrong.

You don't hear the chirping until the chick has pierced the inner membrane, made the internal pip. I've heard peeping from day 19 and I've also had no problem hatches that were quiet. I didn't hear anything until the chicks were out of the egg or had pipped a hole in the egg shell.

Thank you for getting back to me.I have watched a video and it appears that you should hear them chirping on day 20 yet i haven't heard a peep from them and is day 21. I have contacted the woman i received the eggs from but she hasn't got back to me yet. I am hoping for an reason why they are late.

I think a lot depends on your incubator temperature. I can't remember if I ever went to day 23 (Others have), but I've gone to day 22 with no problems often enough.
