JUST ANSWERING SOME Questions:
1. YES, I RAN out to take the cedar shavings out!!!
(had no clue)
2. The nesting boxes are from Target. AND I felt at a great price for Target- ONLY $4.99 a bin (love that store!). They are super strong and sturdy and have these lil handles that flip around to stack them!!!! We screwed the roosts to the wall in front of the bins to sturdy them up and after my hurry up alarm!! this am I ran out there with the drill, which only took about a minute to remove the wood to take out the bins.
We were going to make our own (have enough wood but though it would be nice to give the DH a break. It was a good $20. father's day gift-LOL (the three days less of work)-LOL
They are really easy to clean. They had Blue ones too but being they are girls that will be utilizing them, felt the lavender was appropriate.
3. The reason there are multiple roosts in front of the one bin and not the others is that since we stacked the bins I though it would be hard for the girls to do an olympic jump from under one roost up and AROUND to the top of the other- (I know I can't jump like that)- LOL
so I though that if it were further out they can get to the bottom one an fly up on an angle to the top one. It's been working out. I don't really know that it is necessary though but being a first time chick mom- I have no idea what manuvers they can accomplish
Does anyone know if this is being really rediculous of me???
4. The latch off of the lil door- well like I said it took 7 weeks to get to this point the poor DH did kill himself trying to find the time to finish it, so it is probably up to me to do the rest! (I think I can handle it)-LOL
I didn't realize I needed to stop it from blowing closed until I was sending the poor kids out every half an hour yesterday with our mini NJ wind storms to open it for the girls.
It was good practice in breaking the kids in to pet care- LOL
