Won't lie I had to google what a hoop coop is, but they do look pretty cool. We thankfully don't have those kinds of predators in our area. Just nosy neighbours. Our dogs keeps the snakes away. Our dogs are trained not to touch the livestock though, so we've never had an issue with them. If anything they normally protect the livestock from whatever comes around.Love the pictures!
Due to roaming dogs, feral cats, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, foxes, snakes, AND Cooper's hawks we have our bantams in a hoop coop, but they seem to be content.
Good cause having experience doing the toughest job of all ( culling) is not for everyone. And yes we are chicken lovers hereGlad to be here! We've actually had the rabbits for much longer than the chickens.
Yeah, the culling part is not at all fun. The only thing that makes it a little bit better is knowing you gave the creature a good life.Good cause having experience doing the toughest job of all ( culling) is not for everyone. And yes we are chicken lovers here![]()

When I signed up here I was planning a regular box type coop, made with pallets. A couple members suggested I look at the hoop coop builds because I live in a very hot and humid area of the country. After lots of research I decided it was my best option.Won't lie I had to google what a hoop coop is, but they do look pretty cool. We thankfully don't have those kinds of predators in our area. All my coops are well ventilated hoop coops here in lower Alabama were chickens could get steamed on any given day in the summer if in some of the old boarded up coops with little ventilation. When I signed up here I was planning a regular box type coop, made with pallets. Thank you! I will definitely be looking into that! We get quite hot here in summer but in winter we also drop quite cold. When I signed up here I was planning a regular box type coop, made with pallets.
