The burn ban has been lifted here so I was considering burning the stack of paper feed sacks that I have, and OldGal suggested that we ask Callahan's if they would take them back. Since we had to pickup more feed anyway, while we were there we asked. The answer; "We pay 5¢ apiece for any you bring back."

Ask at your feed store.

I used to burn a lot of paper stuff and have rethought that practice in the past few years. Now we usually put stuff like that in the compost pile; feed sacks, old pulp egg cartons, newspapers, and such. You could always use them as a weed barrier under mulch in flower beds or in the vegetable garden.
