Hey all, I am ellieandolive. We live in south east Texas on 1.5 acres with a small barn. We converted 2 animal stalls into a large coop. Our 10 chickens and 20 ducks share the stalls at night (they have a dividing door, ducks in one, chickens in the other). But during the day they roam our property (and the neighbors, ugh!). :)
We are currently raising 3 roosters and 7 hens, as some were straight run. I have 2 blue australorp roosters, 1 blue australorp hen, (all chickens and ducks are 5 months), can't wait for them to start laying!! 1 easter egger rooster, and 2 egger hens. Then 2 americauna hens. Lastly a light brahma bantam hen and a golden laced wyandotte hen. We are in the process of trading/buying a couple more blue australorp hens/chicks and I think I will start selling blue australorp chicks and fertile eggs next spring! Pretty excited to have this special breed. We will be trading/selling the other chickens except for 4 that are special family favorites. However we will not be selling their eggs, just eating them! I have lots of questions but will probably post/log on in spurts as I am a busy homeschooling mom of 4 as well. Thanks for reading!

If you were curious, my ducks are: 10 khaki campbells (6 drakes, ugh!), 4 blue swedish, 4 muscovy, and 2 golden 300 hybrids.

Oh I also have a 22 egg incubator from tractor supply, a Nurture Right 360, that I am setting 12 easter egger eggs in tomorrow!!!! I AM SO EGGCITED!

Thanks for that info! I didn't realize duck info was here too, that's great!
