WOW! That sounds like a late night scary movie plot! I don't know much about predators, but I thought that I heard somewhere that bobcats or panthers can sound like a woman screaming. Can someone back me up? We don't have anything exciting like those here in my neighborhood. Good Luck!

Here's what you do! I am a possum trapping expert! My husband could not catch the possum in our garage in the trap, but I did, and let me share how I did it.

He put loose bait in the back of the trap, and the possum would get the bait and leave. (It was very tricky) Soooo I put the bait in one of those bags that you use to boil rice in, and tied it securely to the back of the trap. The possum then had to really work on the trap to get the yummy stuff inside it (which was the scraps from a chicken I boiled). So it tripped the trap and

TA-DAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I got it! ME! THE GIRL!

Use my technique and you will get your possum!

Hmmm, that is exactly what the BF's parents said....PANTHER....they didn't hear it, I am still shaking inside...I can hear it plain as day....over and over....I have never seen a panther, but they say they are here....oh my....if that is the sound they make...just bone chilling-woman screeching, utter shreeks of terror....seems to me, they are like a cat, shouldn't they be purring???? I so need to get it together and get past this....it really has been embedded in my head....those awful...awful...screams....it was like a horror movie for sure!!! More inputs appreciated!!!

I'll bet the screaming you heard was cats fighting.....They can sound very human and sometimes a screaming cat sounds like a baby too.....And it is creepy and makes my skin crawl every time I hear that.

i was also thinking bobcat. i've heard them scream like a woman, only not as close to my home as you've obviously heard them.

Probably a bob cat, panther, MT Lion, ect. We have bob cats around my house that sounds like babies crying. Very ominous sound at night in the dark.....

What about foxes? I hear some screaming from the woods and DH said it sounded like foxes.......That was creepy! With a bear around, I'm sure you've got the big predators though....I didn't think we had panthers here in the US. What about a cougar? I know we have those.........

I would definitely stay in the house......at night.....noooo goin' outside!

Fishercats scream like scary ghost zombie things!!! That is probably what it was!
