He immediately realized the signs were bad here and convinced them to let him take it for testing. Sure enough, the cute little thing had rabies, and all of the family had to undergo the injections that cost, I think, $10,000 PER PERSON!!! BUT the NY State Health Department picked up the tab because it was a wild animal. SO, perhaps other states have similar rules that would cover someone injurred in an attack like this one. If a state covers the tab for my foolish friends' family for picking up a kit, I would think that someone should cover the expense for people who are attacked in their homes by a rabid, wild animal.
