It was time to change and get some of my Roo's in to freezer camp. I had 63 plymouth rock chickens of which 33 were roo's lots of crowing in the mornings ! They reach 16 weeks yesterday and I sent 30 packing to the freezer! My biggest was 7.5lbs dressed and smallest 3.8lbs average worked out to just over 5lbs dressed. This leaves us with 28hens and 3 Roo's of which my boys picked the three Roo's, they are all gentle roo's that the boys pick up all the time. Believe it or not these three roo's are huge comparied to all the rest! We also got our first egg XXS but the boys were excited anyways they want to hatch it! Kids!!!!! Told them i want a quiche before we think of hatching any eggs!
