My hen Roxanne has been a little confused. She sleeps in her nesting box and lays her eggs on her perch. So this morning, I put a plastic egg in each nesting box and it worked!

I taped the plastic eggs so they will stay together. How long should I leave the plastic ones in the nesting boxes? A week? A month?

I leave my faux nest egg in all the time. most hens prefer a partially filled nest. Even though I have 4 nest, they lay 90% in the same nest, just because there are already eggs in there. I think the only reason another nest gets used is when the favorite is busy.
