Anybody recognize this issue? Very itchy pulley, I don’t see any mites or bugs but they may be present. She has some bumps on her skin, mostly her neck that are raised, firm and some with what seem to be scabs.

Hello, thank you for the welcome. She does have access to bath anytime, she is so lethargic tho. Pale, not eating much until today. She is on Corid now to treat for Cocci. It almost looks like some feather follicles are irritated, firm bumps underneath the skin. Now that I’ve been observing all day, she’s scratching in other areas frequently too. Leaning towards bugs/mites maybe?

Welcome To BYC

Can you get photos of all of her and her poop?

How old is she?

What do you feed, including treats?

The lethargy is concerning. Work on getting her hydrated, if you are treating with Corid and she's not drinking well, the syringe drops of the medicated water into her. Once she's drinking, then see if she will eat some food.

I'd go ahead and treat for mites/lice, I'm with you, I don't see any bugs, but if she's scratching a lot, then it's worth giving her a dusting to see if that brings some relief.

Was she vaccinated for Marek's?

Hen is about 24 weeks old Buff Orpington, not yet laying eggs. She’s eating blue seal, organic layer pellets. Full crop last night and some this morning after O mashed it with some watermelon. She loves blk soldier fly larva and ate a small amount today too. Drinking is minimal and I’ve been using a syringe with the corid solution. Have her a bath today followed by some natural poultry spray for mites.
Energy is better this morning, some color back in her face too.

I neglected to mention that 4 days ago she had a prolapsed vent and a very scary looking bloody stool. I treated it with a warm soak and wash, Vaseline and carefully persuaded her vent back. It’s looking much better today. Poor thing has a lot happening all at once. Attached are today’s droppings and some further skin shots after a wash.
Furthermore I did see a lot of black specks down her back as I was washing today, didn’t look like dirt as much as it did bug droppings.
Really appreciate the feedback

As for Mareks, she’s from a local breeder who claims that they are, although we lost two pullets just weeks ago to what I determined must have been Mareks.

If you can, get a Permethrin based poultry dust and dust her with that. Put the dust in an old sock and use it like a powder puff, dust her all over working the dust all the way through the feathers down to the skin.
While natural products are often helpful in prevention, they are not quite as effective when there's an infestation.

She's 24weeks, even though not laying eggs, if she's prolapsed, I would give her 1 Calcium Citrate+D3 tablet once daily for a week. You can find this at stores like Walmart, CVS, etc. Just pull down on the wattles and pop the tablet into the beak, let her swallow.
Calcium can help with retention and contractions. She's young to be prolapsing whether from an egg/pushing or constipation. It's a concern that this may become a chronic problem.

If the crop is not emptying, then address that symptom. Very often when a crop doesn't empty, there's another underlying condition. Worms, Coccidiosis, Infection, Reproductive disorder or disease can cause inflammation in the body and slow all the processes. Work on the crop to see if you can get that moving.

Syringing fluids or the medicated water into her is good if she's not drinking. Do the best you can. Encourage her to eat, enticing her with some egg or some of things that may be of interest to her.

Sadly, you may be dealing with Marek's, the only way to really know is if you lose her and have testing done through your state lab. Consider having the testing, so you are sure what you are dealing with. https://www.metzerfarms.com/poultry-labs.html

The Marek's vaccine helps prevent the formation of tumors, but does not stop infection from the virus, so even if vaccinated, birds can become sick and have problems, so very possible, the breeder is telling you the truth.
