IT''s 102 IN THE SHADE RIGHT NOW!!!

I'm freezing! It's 67 here and down to 45 at night for JULY???? This is the worst summer ever. Wish we'd get some heat - the garden is a complete loss too and no apples or any fruit this year!

If this pattern keeps up through winter, we'll be snowed in till next May!

I'll be there in a minute.

Come on up and bring some zuchinni and whatever else you've got in your garden! Coffee's brewing.... or hot cocoa??

I've been to Charlivoix, MI, paradise in the summer. I should be there right now, I do have friends I could free load on. Might have to take them out for dinner a time or two, but could still stay there for a couple of weeks.

I LOVE NORTHERN MICHIGAN.

Hot and dry and windy here - garden's growing like a weed but my well never quits running. Upstairs is a balmy 97 - ac quit working!!! My canaries have been forced into a molt. Poor poor 'naries. Well they should be gorgeous.

To answer the op's question - I dunno. I keep mine in the barn and its 100 in there today. I keep a mister going and don't let them outside until the evening with this heat. I also have a fan going. No one seems too bothered, eating and chasing around the hens.

Still laying, the four that actually pay the rent anyway! Out of how many pullets I have running about?

Oh...I'm sorry, I forgot to answer the OP...

Sorry OP!

I don't have a fan on mine at all while they're in the run. If the run is completely closed off so that no wind whatsoever is blowing, then yes...I have a box-fan running non-stop. I have a 4" fan running at night inside of the coops.

The heat killed the garden a few weeks ago, but I bought a head of lettuce at the grocery store. Does that count?
