(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got chickens Memorial Day. This is my first flock and overall they seem good/
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 6, I'm waiting for spring to bring some little chickeys into my life again!
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have golden Comets, I want to get some rirs.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I won 7 chickens 1 rooster 6 hens, and I got attached to them and now they're mine!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Um, gaming,hanging out with my friends hunting and outdoor activities.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 2 siblings, a brother and a sister. I'm currently the only care taker of my chickens, my parents buy the food and supplies and i do the rest. I've wanted to live on a farm seince i was only 4 years old. Sadly, my parents don't share the same dream as I do. This is a little late considering I've been here for 8 months.

I'm so envious of you getting a start on chickens already! I too wanted to be a farmer since I was a kid. Sounds like you're off to a much better start than me.
I'm assuming, since you have a rooster, that you don't live in a city right?
I'm sure, since you've been here a while, that you know what a great bunch of people are here. Any question or problem you have, somebody is going to be able to help you.
 
Good luck with your chickens. Hope someday your parents will realize how important they are to you and your character development. When I was 11 I finally got to have a puppy. I had saved Xmas & birthday $$$ for years to get one before I was allowed to do so. I also had a little extra change for taking younger kids to school during the week.
My allowance at that time was 35 cents a week.

When my puppy arrived I found out he didn't have shots. Had to sell my little two wheeler to get the money to pay for that. My parents never really wanted me to have dogs but I persisted. I taught myself how to trim poodles at 14, and when I graduated from high school. I had my own grooming shop,etc.

Just keep being a responsible owner and maybe your parents will see how well you are doing and be more accepting of your birds. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
