Also remember - good fences make good neighbors.

If your animals are contained, the yards and runs are clean, I know of no ordinance in your area that would require the authorities to come out and inspect your place for violations if someone did report you. Unless you are up in LOTW.

Mind your business and ignore your cousin.

Just ignore themand go about your business. Pay no attention to the sueing threats, you are doing nothing wrong. The only thing I suggest is to only let them free-range when you can sit and watch them, this way they are not wondering in other peoples yard.

I was told that here in Virginia theat if an animal (livestock) wondered onto your property that there could be a $300 fine to the owner of the animal. So it is best to keep your animals on your property.

Hope the drama stops, I can't stand drama myself. Those people make me

No bark collars seem to work pretty well. Our neighbor was nice enough to put on her dog. It's the citronella type that emits a spray when the dog barks. He still can and does bark if something really bothers him, but it stopped the nuisance barking.

Thank goodness! He has a huge, loud bark that carries, and he started every morning at 5:30 when she left for work. We couldn't leave our windows in the bedroom open, he was just *so* loud. Our neighbors a mile away asked me what happened to her dog after she put the collar on him and he quit barking... The sound was really carrying a long ways.

If your dog is nuisance barking, maybe a no-bark collar would be a nice thing to do for your nice neighbors as well...

Some ijits just need drama for the response it gets. I'm 44 years old and had enough drama growing up that if I get any now, it's gets shot down PDQ.

Ignore her. She's a cranium excrement.

No, we're not in LOTW Miss Prissy, thank god, lol! I couldn't deal with all of those rules..

Our chickens this time around are not free ranged, they are penned 24/7. Our dogs do not run lose - they are either in a pen, on a run, or in the house. Our pig has escaped ONCE, and even then she was still on our property and was put back into her pen ASAP.

Yes, our dogs do bark. The one who barks the most is our hound/beagle. Or other dogs typically only bark if something is outside, Chey will bark at the air, like I said before. BUT, everyone's dogs around here bark - i don't know how they can pin it all on her. I'm sure its the way she barks that is really irritating, but there are other hounds up the road too.

We're going to be looking into getting a dog whistle, but apparently petsmart doesn't carry them? Where would I get one, anyone know?

My mom is considering a fence.. and like someone else on this board, I suggested we paint critters all over there side, lol! Mom also said we should get a longcrower..

I am pretty confident I got mine at walmart, i know i got the airhorn there. If i am mistaken then i got my whistle at Petco. But most of my shopping is at walmart so i am pretty sure that's where i got mine. It didn't work right away, but after a few times she was really concerned about figuring out where the sound was coming and why it was happening every time she barked. It would startle her and then it got annoying to her (turn about is fair play) and then once that no longer phased her is when i began the air horn.

I had a family member that was like that. She was always calling and trying to make trouble. Here is my opinion remember it is mine and nobody has to share it.

1. Tell the family member that she may own that rental next door and that she can rent that home out to anyone she wants she has the right it is hers.

2. Then tell her that you own your property and have rights as well and that you will exercise your rights to have any animal you want, as long as it is legal for you. And that what happens at your home in not her business.

3. Before you tell her this go to the cop shop and ask them to take a report of harassment. Tell them that at this time you want the report on file so that you have a paper trail that this is happening. Tell them everything that she as said or done. Tell them about her wanting to talk to Grampa who has aready had a heart attack. Tell them you fear this harassment might just send him into another one.

4. Then tell this rotten excuse for a relative that you have already went to the police had a report filed about all the harrassment she has been giving you and that if she harasses you again you are pressing charges. Inform her that you expect her to mind her business which is on her property not yours, also tell her to tell the neighbors next door to get a life other than yours and that when their dogs stops barking maybe yours will. At this time I would also inform her family or not to stop talking to you and your Grandparents, as you have nothing to say to someone who would be so rotten as to harass the elderly.

5. I really would try to stop the dog from barking for your good neighbors and your own sake not the rental next door or your rotten relative.
