I think all the photos are from front sides because I don't see the windows either (other than the door one), but I'll take your word for it. :)

Is it possible to add a window to the door? The idea for ventilation is having air being able to move through. One window will definitely help better than none but two is always better than 1

Are these soffit areas still 'open' but covered with mesh?

there is a window in the door. It drops down. If you look closely it has a clip and LATCH on the window.
