It's Friday, the 13th... and setting eggs

I've been tapping on the lid. Sometimes it seems like I'll hear a chirp back.

This is really fun and so neat...it's all new to me. I told my mother today about the chirping and she didn't know that they chirp while still in the egg. I wish my girls were home for this. They just missed the first chirps by only an hour or so. I hope there is at least a little crack on the egg for when they come home later. They have dance tomorrow morning, and I think I might have a hard time getting them to go.

I have a question....if a broody hen was on the eggs, does she still move them when it gets this close? I only ask because I kind of bumped the incubator and a couple eggs moved. I hope that I didn't mess them up.

OMG as if on cue, I walked into the room and heard something that sounded like the styrofoam got hit, looked down and lo and behold, the first pip!!!!!

Just happened! I wish I would've actually see it happen, but still, a pip!!!

Ok a question. I apparently have another egg that pipped, bc I noticed a few little shell bits on the bottom under another egg. I used a straightened plastic hanger and put it through one of the holes and rolled it over because I thought maybe that wouldn't be good-there is a little hole. Hopefully that one will be ok, too. How sad if it made it this far only to die b/c it pipped where the egg was laying...

I wonder whats going on in the bater at home. Its so hard to concentrate here at work. I need a bater cam

Both babies are doing amazing and have been moved to the brooder. The other 6 eggs seem intent on torturing me. No wiggles, wobbles, cheeps, or pips, but I THINK I hear scratching. :idunno :pop

Keep the updates coming love hearing how everyone else is doing. :hugs
