I'm wondering with my quails they just moved into there coop outside however they have been out there for about 3 weeks and every night I have to force them back into the cage/home. and I have had chickens before and they normally go back into their home when it gets dark, but with the quails, they don't do that. is there a special way I can get them to do it or is it not going to change?

Mine sleep wherever they were when the mood hit. I see them sleeping out in the rain next to shelter mere inches away /shrug/ they’re weird.
Basically what they said 😂😆😂

Quail are ground birds and have no homing instinct like chickens do. They are hardy birds and will find a sheltered spot to bed down for the night. The only issue is if predators can reach through to grab them through the wire if the quail decide to sleep right next to the wire at night. I've had rats try and pull quail through half inch hardware cloth.
