It's going to be super cold.

69 degrees here now, but I think I'll still start a fire.

It's 56 and my fire is still going from last night. One of my pease hurt his foot, so he's inside and it's a little too warm for him, lol, but I think he might prefer it.

Left Corinth Mississippi (did I get enough "i's"?) this morning and it was 54 degrees,,get into southern illinois about noon and the car says it's 77 degrees outside. Get to Champaign it's down to 55 again and check accuweather for tonight and theres another 5-8" snow coming, blowing tomorrow of 40mph,and a blizzard warning is in effect after 1am tomorrow morning. Wifey did a super job caring for the harem of peas inside the palace while I was gone, actually two hens wanted me to open my pockets to see if I had bread for them.I fear she has now ruined them. She told me she tried to bond with Thang and thinks they may have made a connection (this has yet to be seen) .

You better watch out, sounds like Wifey may have fallen under Thang's spell. It's kind of like the Dos Equis commercial only he's "The Most Interesting Peacock in the World".

As far as your forecast, you have my sincerest sympathies.

You know, last night wifey wanted me to go check the birds so I did. I don't know what intelligence peas has but all,and I mean all 10 males started doing the ah-ha calling. Wifey said they were silent when she did the chores. I only went into one pen,my bssp to see Roadtrip and his harem and both my pure bssp hens squatted down on the floor in front of me.I reached down and picked Pipi up and she seemed very calm compared to usual. Most of the time during breeding season when males makes that call it's a sound of alarm but I had never heard all of them at once carry on like this before.Maybe it was a greeting? And about Thang.I have to admire his elegant train again this year but as far as him showing any kind of affection,,no way! He has his own little agenda. And bonding with humans isn't one of them. He's a "twink" between the ears,,no brains, just creme filling.

This is our barn, during the breeding season all 14 mature males will ah-ha together day and night. If you are walking down the center aisle with the pens on either side, the cacophony is almost deafening.

Small children have run out crying with their hands over their ears.
