Its just me

Welcome to Backyard Chickens JRTC!
If I could I would order 70 chickens behind my family's back too, but I never get away with anything!! It's funny to know that your hens keep your roo's in line. You must have a good flock!
For some reason my 2 hens are super dominant. We had a Roo with them for a long time, and he passed, and they were single for about 5 months..... Then we hatched these Raptors 😅😂 and sheesh these hens chase the @&#& out of these roos.

How old are your cockerels? The hens rule, but once the boys reach 8mo to a year, they tend to get the upper hand on most of the hens.
On the plus side, it makes it easier for us to part with the rowdy roosters.

They are almost 8 months old (tomorrow actually) We keep a pretty close eye on them, and expect that to start to happen here shortly. We do have separate coops if need be, since they free range they know what being in trouble is, we have put a couple of them in time out a few times. But mostly at this point, if the roos start to act up, the hens go in to attack mode, and stop it, and the roos scatter. And they are all besties again within 2 seconds. We call this batch of roos "special". Because we have never seen anything like it.

Hello!
We are a family of 6+6, My husband and I and our 4 kids, and our flock of 6.
We currently have 4, 7 month old Dark Brahma Roo's. Omg, they are huge for their age and we are excited to see how much bigger they will get!!! And we also have 1 Black Laced Silver Wyandotte Chicken, and 1 Easter Egger! We have been raising chickens for 7 years, and we love it. (Don't come at me about the Rooster/Chicken ratio, we already are completely aware, at this point the girls are more Roo then the boys, and there quite visious to the boys and keep them in line, and having 4 roos wasn't exactly our plan, we ordered special ordered eggs (4) offline and ended up with 4 Roos, but we have fallen in love with all 4 and will soon find them safe homes or I will by 70 more chickens while my husband's at work 😂😆😅)!
Welcome to BYC!!

Welcome to BYC! I started out with six chickens as well, chicken math took hold, and now I have eighteen. :p I've heard good things about Brahma roosters, and it sounds like yours are pretty special. Enjoy your time here!
