(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had chickens growing up on a farm. Then as an adult, I had chickens about 5 years or so ago. I just got chickens again for the first time since buying our own home!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I just got 15 pullets in the last week. I also have quail!
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 3 lav orps, a barred rock, 3 easter eggers, 2 cochins, an ancona, an australorp, a welsummer, a wyandotte, and then 2 random yellow chicks that could be just about anything!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
EGGS.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting, writing, and hunting and fishing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 7 children, twelve and under, and I homeschool them. I also run my own business, have an etsy shop, am a published author, and a fitness coach.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
It's the most popular poultry site as far as I know!
